Intangible Cities of Margharita Monticiano

A sly confection of shadows and projected images – a series of elusive, decadent shadowy reflections of La Serenissima – the seductive, rapacious city of Venice, that carries the seeds of its own downfall.
Part Two:
Her Cup of Tea
presented by: TIP Connection, Finland & Estonia
In Chekov's tragicomedy Uncle Vanya, Sonja is the dutiful daughter of a bitter old man. Her predicament of undeclared love and search for an escape from monotony is delicately explored.

A wry discourse on effects of desire and decay. Using shadows, puppets and the human body.
Penumbra: Perceptual, area of shadow which is between fully dark and full light.
Penumbra: Original Latin, almost shadow.

A story about loneliness and a wait for help that never arrives. A story about the strength of friendship and fidelity. A story of the fight to endure unendurable conditions, of experiencing the tangible warmth of memories and feeling nothing except the unbearable cold.

presented by Invisible Thread, UK
A new piece of theatre drawn from the fabric of myth and fairytale to chart a transformation from beauty to beast and beyond. Live video-feed painting, object theatre, puppetry and animation conjure up a dark, eccentric miniature world.
